The displayed price includes professional fitting rather than being a door-only price. Suitable standard handles and essential fitting hardware are included with qualifying fitted jobs.

What is the Black Oak Parma door?

The Parma is an unglazed internal door from the Liberty Doors oak collection. It combines a solid engineered core with black oak veneer and substantial lippings, giving the door a weighty, stable construction and visible timber texture. It is not a fire door unless a separately certified FD30 version is specified and supplied.

The solid, glass-free design provides complete visual privacy, making it suitable for bedrooms, bathrooms and offices. Compared with a flat black door, the oak grain and Parma panel arrangement add depth and prevent the dark finish from appearing plain.

Fully finished in RAL 9005 jet black

This model is supplied fully finished in RAL 9005 jet black. The factory-applied finish avoids the initial painting or staining required by an unfinished door and provides a more consistent surface across a multi-door project.

Fully finished does not mean that installation needs no preparation or care. Any adjustment must remain within the manufacturer’s trimming allowances, and cut or exposed areas should be treated as directed. Non-abrasive cleaning products should be used, and the dark surface should be protected carefully during installation to avoid visible marks.

Where does a black oak door work best?

Black internal doors suit modern, industrial and monochrome interiors, but the natural oak texture also helps the Parma work in transitional schemes. It can coordinate with black window frames, dark kitchen cabinetry and contemporary ironmongery, or provide contrast against pale walls, flooring and architraves.

For a consistent appearance, consider how many doors are visible from the same hallway or landing. Repeating the Parma design can create a deliberate architectural rhythm, while using it selectively can highlight a particular room.

Standard, made-to-measure and bi-fold options

A broad selection of standard imperial and metric sizes is shown on this page. A made-to-measure option may help where an opening falls outside the normal range, and a bi-fold configuration can be considered where a full door swing would take up too much space.

Made-to-measure and bi-fold requirements need separate assessment. We confirm the opening dimensions, construction, hardware, lead time and fitted price before ordering. They should not be treated as standard doors simply trimmed down on site.

Why professional fitting matters

Dark factory-finished doors make uneven gaps and inaccurate ironmongery especially noticeable. Existing frames can be out of square, and the Parma has different trimming allowances at the top, sides and bottom. Correct hinge positioning, floor clearance and latch alignment are therefore essential.

Our supply-and-fit service includes measuring the opening, confirming the most appropriate available option, completing permitted preparation and hanging the door into the existing frame. We handle the finished surface carefully, align the hardware and identify frame repairs or unusual work that could affect the quotation.

Black Oak Parma sizes and fitted price

The listed price covers the standard door and professional installation for the selected specification. Made-to-measure production, bi-fold hardware, frame repairs, unusual preparation or upgraded ironmongery may alter the final quotation. Current sizes and availability are subject to supplier stock.

Grafton Carpentry currently focuses on supplying and fitting interior doors as a complete service. A wider supply-only option is planned but is not fully available at present. Browse our oak internal door range or check the areas we cover.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Black Oak Parma door fully finished?

Yes. It is supplied with a factory-applied RAL 9005 jet-black finish, so it does not require the initial painting or staining stage of an unfinished door.

Is it solid oak?

It has a solid engineered core with black oak veneer and substantial lippings. This provides real oak texture and stable construction without being one piece of solid timber throughout.

Is this Parma door fire rated?

The standard product on this page is not described as a fire door. A separately specified and certified FD30 version must be used where a fire-rated door is required.

Can the Parma door be made to measure or bi-fold?

Both options can be requested, subject to the opening and appropriate specification. We confirm dimensions, hardware, lead time and price before ordering.

Does the displayed price include fitting and handles?

The base product price includes professional fitting. Suitable standard handles and essential fitting hardware are included with qualifying fitted jobs; bespoke and bi-fold requirements are priced separately.
